Acoustical
Foam
dB Engineering acoustical foam composites combine
the highly effective sound absorptive properties of
dB Engineering acoustical foam with the significant
transmission loss properties of dB Engineering
flexible barriers. The result is a line of noise control
products that combat difficult problems one material
alone cannot handle. |
Polyurethane and melamine
foams of various thicknesses are bonded to any of the
dB Engineering barriers in either the barrier backed
or barrier septum configurations.
For harsh environmental conditions, all of the foam products
and barrier combinations may be purchased with thin film
facings for protection. Pressure sensitive adhesives are
recommended for small die cut pieces. Large sections should
be applied with mechanical fasteners or contact adhesive.

Metalized
Mylar Foam
This is excellent for use around liquids. The reflective,
wipe-clean surface protects against oils, water and many
chemicals. Reduces head transfer.

|
|
 |
Embossed
Foam
This foam increases sound absoption performance in the most
critical frequency bands by 25% to 35% when compared to
other available foams.

Noise Barrier
These materials block noise. They do not absorb, dissipate
or deaden noise. Barrier materials are flexible to adapt
to any surface. Barrier materials are sold in a 1 lb per
square foot density which can be layered to increase the
effect.

Barrier Foam.
The absorption efficiency with the 1 lb. barrier in this
foam makes it ideal for lining engine, generator, and compressor
housings. Available with embossed face or metalized mylar
reinforced face.

Matte Film
Finish
Provides a tough, puncture resistant textured surface making
it suitable for use in machine enclosures.

Damping Sheet
This is a .050 sheet of damping compound with pressure-sensitive
adhesive backing. It provides immediate and effective vibration
damping.
Foam Damping Sheet
The embossed foam is bonded to a .050 sheet of high efficiency
damping compound providing a single solution for sound
absorption and vibration damping inside equipment enclosures.

Foam Melamine
Excellent for flame and heat resistance. For use where light
weight, heat resistance, and personal safety is a concern.

IMPORTANT: When the foam is subjected to dirt, grease,
moisture and chemical attack, it may require a foam with
a protective surface treatment such as our Metalized Mylar
or Matte Film Finish foams above.
All our foam products do not drip upon ignition,
cease to burn after removal of the source of ignition
and produce a minimal amount of smoke.
Our products meet all the requirements of
UL-94, MVSS-302 and FAR 25.83b.
